Finally I posted all of my entries for Curt's painting challenge. This year really few figures only but at least I managed to achieve my goal of 250 points.
Nevertheless there's no time for idleness with a lead pile like mine to handle:
I've been thinking about painting the gun since I finished the limber last year (here). Actually I cannot tell why took me so long to tackle this set but in our club there are so many AWI guns that we weren't in need of another piece. Anyway by now I'm pretty much done with the first of the four gunners and the piece itself:
In addition there are three other men helping to aim the 6pdr gun. Somehow I missed to take a picture of the one aiming across the barrel. Now he's waiting for the glue to settle and thus you'll see him on the finished vignette then.
But there's the chap with the spike:
Obviously he'll take place more or less behind the gun ready to turn the carriage. I like the focused look Alan put into his face. He looks like a really professional artilleryman.
Finally there's the chap with the sponge. He looks rather focused from behind the gun as well. On the figure I have to put the white highlights and then finish the tolls of his and the spike fellow. Afterwards some varnish and then onto the base with them. But that's my work for the next days.
Enjoy your weekend !
